Sotomayor Supreme Court Confirmation Hearing

Today is the first day of the confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor. This is the first and biggest step in the Supreme Court confirmation process. Over the course of the hearings the senators will ask Judge Sotomayor questions about her judicial philosophy, temperament, and specific cases she has ruled on. While a schedule is currently not available for the confirmation hearings, the hearing began at 10:00 AM today. You can watch the hearings live here.

As you watch the hearings expect questions about Ricci v. DeStefano concerning reverse descrimination, empathy, activist judges, international law, abortion, and the ability to hold the executive in check.
